Michael finally graduated from university with his PhD today nearly four years after he left to write up his thesis. The process from finishing the lab work to the final thesis took two years and then he finally got awarded his PhD a year ago (the certificate arrived the day before our wedding so he actually could say he waited to finish his PhD before getting married!) but his graduation day would have been during our honeymoon so he deferred his graduation for a year. There were three others from his former research group graduating with PhD’s today as well.
