I recently found a bag containing three christening gowns in almost pristine condition - two belonging to me and my twin sister and the other was my dad's from his christening eighty years ago. Sophie is being christened on Sunday and will be wearing my christening gown and her daddy's christening shawl. I couldn't resist trying her in my dad's one today and sending my mum a picture. She looked so sweet in it - wish my dad was still here to have seen her in it, he was such a lovely grandad and he would so have loved my two girls.
