Learning Russian

Michael and I are trying to learn a few key Russian phrases for our trip to Moscow for the Champions League final next week but pronunciation seems to be very tricky! So far we have mastered a couple of basics: hello (dras-witch-ah according to BBC languages or pree-vyet according to our useful phrase sheet), goodbye (dos-vi-dan-ya), please (po-zha-lu-ees-ta), thank you (spah-see-bah) and the all important “I would like an alcoholic beverage” (vohd-ka). Unfortunately, there won’t be much time for sight-seeing as we are only there for 3 days and most of Tuesday and Thursday will be taken up with travelling.
