Day 98 - Cuddles with the family

Have had a lovely day catching up with the family as took Mum home yesterday and stayed down to spend a couple of days seeing everyone.  We got to see Auntie Maxine at lunchtime, and then spent the afternoon and evening at Auntie Fizz’s house and Auntie Loraynne dropped in and enjoyed having some cuddles with Sophie and Jessica.  We stayed until bedtime and it was lovely to see the four girls all snuggled up under the covers together whilst Ebony, my ten year old niece, read the bedtime story.  Always lovely to spend some time with my lovely family.

Day 97 - Silly Nanny!

My mum is fabulous with my little girls.  She is full of fun and so good at making them laugh.  I don’t think I have ever heard Sophie laugh so much as I have done over the last few days.  One of her favourite things has been watching my mum playing with a balloon which had her in fits of laughter – it was so lovely to see.  Nanny is also very good at being silly – having left her to change Sophie’s nappy, I came back a moment later to see Sophie sitting with her knickers on her head.  Silly Nanny!

Day 95 - Sisters in the sunshine

The weather has been lovely lately and the girls have been enjoying being able to be out in the garden.  Jessica loves all her garden toys and having the space to push her dollies pram or her shopping trolley around and enjoys pushing her toys down her slide.  Sophie has a little swing in the garden and she is quite happy sitting in it for a while so she can get a good view of what is happening in the garden.  Jessica likes to come over and push her little sister in the swing – watching them together is so precious.

Day 93 - The ironing fairy

The ironing fairy has visited! Another bonus of having my lovely mum here is that she always likes to do my ironing.  These days I barely have time to iron so if I can get away with not ironing something, I generally will (which applies to most of my clothes and hubby’s clothes) although will try and make sure the girls’ clothes look nice.  Summer dresses are always fun as they tend to get quite creased in the wash but are fiddly to iron – thank you Mum for doing such a big pile of them and making them look nice.

Day 92 - Having Nanny here

I have two very happy little girls at the moment (and a happy mummy too!) as Nanny has come to stay for a few days.  My mum is wonderful with my little ones – she loves to spend time with them, make things (dollies out of muslins is one of my favourites!) and play lots of silly games.  Plus it means I can get some time out and have a nap if I need to catch up on sleep or get on with various household jobs whilst the girls are being kept wonderfully entertained or just spend time with my mum.

Day 55 - A new great-nephew

The stork brought along another new baby to my family today with the arrival of my gorgeous new great-nephew Freddie who easy born this morning and weighed in at 6lb 10oz. Huge congratulations to my nephew Matt and his girlfriend Jodie on becoming proud parents. So lovely to have another new baby in the family; the third so far this year (and the last of the anticipated arrivals for 2014). Freddie's arrival brings the total of great-nieces and great-nephews to 15. Love being part of a big family and looking forward to meeting baby Freddie very soon.

Day 51 - Meeting my new great-niece

I got to meet and have a cuddle with my new great-niece Gracie-Mae today.  She is absolutely beautiful, so much dark hair and looks so much like her big sister did as a baby. Sophie seemed so very big next to her little cousin.  It is lovely to have another baby in the family – more cousins for my girls to play with as they get bigger.  Having a big, close family is such a blessing.   Recent events have made me even more aware of just what a gift children are and how important it is to enjoy those precious moments.
