One of my roles at church is editor of the church magazine
which comes out on the first Sunday of the month. This means that the end of the month is
always very busy as I always seem to leave things to the last minute and then
have to frantically put the magazine together ready to send to the office for
printing. One of the regular features
which I write is ‘From the Archives’. I
love looking back at the old issues of the magazine, reading the church family news
from years ago (my husband’s birth was one item mentioned!)
Welcome to my blog! My aim is to write exactly 100 words preferably on a daily basis, to share my thoughts, any creative ideas and generally to help me focus my writing.

Day 46 - Mother's Day
Have had a lovely first Mother’s Day as a mummy of two. Got very emotional at church this morning
towards the end of the service when Jessica came in with the other children and
helped hand out flowers. It was one of
those moments when it just hits me how very lucky I am to be able to see this
little girl grow and develop and how blessed I am with my two beautiful
daughters. I love them both so very much
and am so proud of them both. Thank you
God for blessing me with such a wonderful family.
Day 45 - Coffee morning
Spent most of the day yesterday baking cakes and scones for
today’s coffee morning at our church which was a fundraiser for the wonderful
Little Hearts Matter. Little Hearts
Matter is a fabulous charity which helps provide information and support to children
with single ventricle heart conditions and their families and they are
celebrating their 20th anniversary this year having grown from a
local support group to a national charity.
It’s great to be able to support the work they do and we managed to
raise £52 through the coffee morning which was quite good considering it wasn’t
particularly busy.

Day 44 - A very special book
I was very excited to receive my copy of ‘Weird Wild’ – my writing
buddy Geri’s first book – in the post today.
Geri and I briefly worked together as temps in the planning department when
we were both in our teens and have stayed in touch mostly via social media over
the years, discovering a shared love of writing. We have been writing buddies for NaNoWriMo
and Camp NaNoWriMo and Geri has had a few short stories published in the last
few years. Her first book is a
collection of her short stories and I’m really looking forward to reading it.

Day 43 - The baby in the mirror
Sophie loves mirrors.
Actually both my babies love mirrors but Jessica knows that it is her
reflection she sees whereas I think Sophie just sees another baby and is
fascinated by the baby in the mirror.
She had a lovely time looking at and chatting to the baby in the mirror
when I stopped to change her nappy (and her entire outfit!) whilst out shopping
this afternoon. Changing her nappy has
become a lot more difficult since she started being able to roll and with her
constantly trying to roll towards the ‘other’ baby, changing her was quite a
challenge!

Day 42 - A good hair day
Popped in to see Grandma this afternoon and discovered that
her hairdresser was visiting which was very handy as Jessica was in need of a
haircut. She was very good and sat nice
and still whilst Jackie trimmed her hair – nice to be able to see her eyes below
her fringe again! Her hair really is
getting quite long now and I have to tie it back most days otherwise it gets
quite matter. She tends to object to having
her hair done though although since I managed to find various character ribbons
on eBay, she is much more amenable.
